A Soldier's Sacrifice
The desirable size of the U.S. armed forces has become a topic of national concern. The U.S. military's ability to field sufficient, high quality, well-equipped forces is at a tipping point. In fact, the army has issued "Stop Loss" orders that have prohibited thousands of soldiers at the end of their enlistment obligations from leaving. This Stop Loss Policy has raised much concern as well as controversy within the United States. Many military officials feel this policy is necessary in order to win this particular war. While others feel this policy raises a great deal of ILLEGAL trepidation.
I strongly feel that this Stop Loss Policy should be specifically stated in every soldier's enlistment contract. So that they know what they may encounter while serving our country. Furthermore, I strongly believe that if this policy is indeed implemented it shall be optional to soldiers. After all they have served their duty, we should not burden them with more.
SO TAKE A STAND FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN!!

Nice presentation. Stop Loss should be something that should be stopped. I personally know a lot of soldiers that do serve their four years and get persuaded to serve again in where they come back to the U.S if lucky with Gods grace, with sleeping disorders, nightmares and many badly injured.
Wow. great web video! Stop Loss is something that should definitely be stopped. Hopefully this changes soon.
GREAT PRESENTATION.. YES i BELIEVE this should be an issue brought up in our next state rep. elections. Many of our soldiers are fighting for their lives to come back home to live their life..that is what keeps them going.. Our troops are not coming back as they went in.. That is the price this country is burden with. If we want our future to arise in great portpotions, we need our troops back in thier completion. Not coming home once they are broken down into pieces. They should warn our troops when they sign up they have this presented to them befor they sign. Our country does need to fight, and our troops fight for their lives at times.. so at siging.. WE SHOULD TELL THEM THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!!!!
Outstanding presentation. Stop loss is something that needs to be stopped to help our soldiers. I absolutely agree with them serving their duty and we shouldnt burden them anymore.
Hey. Excellent Job. The Video Is Awsome. I Totally Agree With The Others That Stop Loss Should Be In Fact "Stopped". Its Time To Bring Our Soldiers Home. After Their Duty They Should Be Permitted To Return Back To Their Faimilies And Loved Ones After Serving Their Time In Hell. May God Bless All Our Soldiers Who Are Fighting For All Of Us And For Our Flag.
OUTSTANDING presentation!!
First and foremost, Stoploss doesn't only affect the soldiers it affects a whole network of people who are families of, friends of, or simply a neighbor of the individuals that are stoplossed. Our troops are our gate keepers in a sense, because without them who else would protect our country. We should be grateful that they had the courage to enlist and protect our society.
Don't we owe them the the same protection they so readily give us??
We need more individuals like you who are doing their part in giving this issue a voice!!!
Great Video, excellent presentation. We need to start seeing how we can bring all our service personnel back from a war we never should have been in to begin with
I totally i agree with what you stated in your blog, I do belive that every soldier should have the right to know that they could potentially serve more than what they had bargained for. Hopefully with this said, more people will agree with your proposition and make a difference!
Amazing video. You did an outstanding job you over achiever! I had no clue about the "Stop Loss" policy. You are right....soldiers need to come home...Heroes need a break too.
Woot, woot! Go Mandie!!! Personally, I am against the idea of stop loss. It should be a soldier's choice on whether or not their enlistment should be terminated, not the government. I have relatives and friends that were and still are unable to get out of the army because of undisclosed reasons by the government. And some of these people have been in the service for over 25+ years. It sucks! One of the men even made an attempt to shoot themselves in the chest as a way to get out, but was stopped by his wife. He was willing to risk his family not receiving any life insurance or benefits by taking his own life. And it was all because he was over in Iraq for 2 years straight and his leave back to the States was constantly delayed. When he did come back home, he had four weeks and was to be deployed again. It's a sad situation and I can only hope that changes will occur.
Awesome Video mandie. Your Right Heroes Do need A Break To. Stop Loss is something that should definitely be stopped. They should warn our troops when they sign up they have this presented to them befor they sign. It's a sad situation and I can only hope that changes will occur.
Even though the policy has been made legal, the policy has room to be challenged. We not only as civilians but as citizens of the United States have to think of the best interest of our troops. Our country should not be devided at this time but united in order to suceed
Great presentation I think you did a great job. I feel this stop loss method of keeping soldiers in the military is a backdoor draft. The problem with calling it a draft is that it scares people so instead they use a deceitful way of holding on to experienced soldiers to help fight a war. I understand freedom isn’t free but I think this is a sneaky way of making a soldier stay longer than what he signed up for. One way of fixing this problem is make it clear to our soldiers before they sign up that after serving 4 or 8 years they may have to serve an additional amount of years if need be. I wonder how many will actually sign up for the Army then? If nothing else the least we can do as a country is take care of those with the physical and emotional problems once they do come home...but that’s another issue.
Hi Mandie,
this is a GREAT presentation. I'm so very proud of you!! Keep up the good work and never give up. ok?
luv,
ruben
Great job on your video. I have family and friends that have served and the stories these guys have could drive anyone insane. It effects them mentally and physically which not only hurts themselves but everbody around them as well. Our government does not understand how the war effects our troops let alone being Stop Lossed. A soldier should only serve his/her time and not any more. Once again, GREAT JOB.
Great video! I would like to see the size of the military increased so that Stop Loss is never needed. The Administration knew that our military was stretched thin and should have taken steps to add personnel to the military. Our number one obligation should be to treat our soldiers, airmen, and sailors properly.
Fantastic presentation. I understand the reaso for stop loss, but I think the soldiers involved should have some say so. Once they have completed their time they should be done.
